We invite our members to our masterclass about navigating your career journey with authenticity, on Thursday 24 March from 16:00 - 17:00 hrs hosted by Deloitte and presented by Leon Pieters and Mohamed Bouker. Being your authentic self is one of the strongest strategies you can execute as an employer or job seeker. But it is also a difficult one. Your authentic self is typically not tied to an individual skill, but to your own personal values which can give you strength in any situation.

Leon and Mohamed together have more than 50 years of experience working at the Zuid As.

It wasn’t always a straightforward path. They will tell you the honest story. You might call them both D&I veterans. The world of consulting and Big4 is predominantly seen as white. But these two partners will take you behind the scenes and share honest and personal stories including the lessons learned. Mohamed is situated in the capital Amsterdam and has roots in Morocco and Leon came from Zeeland and is part of the LGBT+ community. Although they have different backgrounds, it’s great to see how their journeys came together.

Hans Honig, CEO of Deloitte, also has a personal story to tell. Every day he still learns from his interaction with 100+ nationalities within Deloitte – He is aware of how important D&I is for him as a person.

Leon is the Global Consumer Industry Leader at Deloitte which includes retail, consumer products, automotive as well as travel and hospitability; representing $ 10.6 B in global revenue. He is also the Global Sector Leader for Consumer Products. Leon is serving the C-suite of consumer product clients around the world especially in the Food & Beverage and Apparel & Footwear business.

Leon has 25+ years of experience in complex Business & Digital Transformation projects, Supply Chain Optimization projects and Revenue Improvement initiatives for large multi-nationals in these sectors. He is leading multi-disciplinary teams across countries/ regions in a collaborative working style, including client teams, and with a focus on ‘making it happen and making it stick’.

Leon serves as the Global ESG leader for Clients & Industries at Deloitte. He is passionate about sustainability, reducing carbon emissions and supporting a resilient global supply chain. In this role, he helps senior executives at major companies accelerate initiatives to address climate change.

Leon is member of the Diversity & Inclusion Board of Deloitte Netherlands and is one of the Ethical Ambassadors to ensure an inclusive & safe working environment. He is the sponsoring partner of the GLOBE (Gay Lesbian or Bisexual Employees) network of LGBT professionals.

Leon is a Board Member of Workplace Pride, which is a global not for profit organization that fosters the inclusion of LGBT people in the workplace

Mohamed is Finance & Performance Lead Partner. He enjoys working with CFO’s and their teams defining their finance transformation agenda and making this agenda happen in practice. He has 22+ years of experience in complex Business Transformation projects with IT (Finance) enablement. He has been leading several Finance Transformation programs, with focus on strategy as well as technology implementation programs.

Mohamed is passionate about new technologies and new ways of thinking. It’s rewarding to apply well known and news technologies and analytical methods to elevate processes and organizations.

With Moroccan roots and born and raised in Amsterdam – Mohamed experienced himself how instrumental D&I can be. In terms of D&I Mohamed is a big believer “When you reach the top, remember to send the elevator back down for others”

Mohamed studied Business Engineering in Amsterdam and completed a post doc at the University of Tilburg. Recently he finalized a program at Harvard on Disruptive Innovation. Mohamed is co-author of the book “ The CFO in Pole Position”. As treasurer Mohamed is part of the Boards for Prince Claus Fund and Carré Fund. And he’s member of the Supervisory Board for the National Museum of World Cultures.
